CONNECTICUT — So no surprise that it's tough to find a store open on Christmas Day for last minute grocery or quick gift shopping. But all hope is not lost.
Most major food and big box stores like Stop & Shop, Big Y, Target, Trader Joe's, Walmart, close early Christmas Eve and be closed throughout Christmas Day, reopening at normal hours on Dec. 26.
But many stores like CVS, Rite-Aid and Walgreens are open for limited hours, though the pharmacy departments may be closed. Still, click on the above links to check your local stores for hours.
Now that said, many stores, restaurants and coffee shops are also open albeit often for limited hours, like Dunkin' Donuts and Starbucks locations (click on the links to find our store) and often, local corner markets and bodegas are open but again with limited hours. And of course open Chinese restaurants are a Christmas staple.
But before heading out, call ahead just in case.
